WHO WE ARE

We have been providing childcare to Bournemouth & Christchurch families since 2002, and believe the reason we have been the choice for so many school and families is that our approach to childcare is simple – we want children to have fun. We believe they do this best when they are in a safe, caring environment that offers both new and familiar experiences.

We pride ourselves on striving for high standards; all of our settings are graded as Good by Ofsted

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our aim at St Claire's is to provide the highest standard of affordable childcare. An integral part of child development is about building confidence and giving children opportunities to explore and to learn about themselves and others in a safe, caring environment. We believe in children being encouraged to develop their own interests, while being introduced to the world around them. We value time engaging with nature, time outdoors and providing a learning rich, unstructured environment with interactive, creative and inspirational adult led activities.

We believe children learn through play, so we don’t push learning but provide a broad range of resources and activities through which children naturally learn while playing, our planning includes STEAM, cookery and craft activities and we have additional activity leaders come in to deliver everything from Archery and Circus Skills to Skateboarding and First Aid skills. We have minimal screen time. For examples of our activity planners, here.

HOW WE WORK

All our staff participate in continual training, both on the job and in the classroom which they then bring back to inspire policy and practice updates. We do a lot of in house training to ensure everyone is working to the same high standard. We believe that responding to a child’s needs and behaviour in an empathetic and supportive way is more beneficial than being punitive and as such we aim to support children’s social development positively. You can see some of our training here

All our staff either have Childcare qualifications or are working towards them. Our recruitment standards are high, and we do thorough and extensive checks before employment.

HOW WE VALUE PLAY

Play gives children the opportunity to practice and so perfect the skills needed in adult life. We aim to create friendly, accepting environments where the children feel a sense of belonging, value and worthiness, through which we hope our children will progress to become responsible and independent adults. We liaise with our children's teachers and families in order to provide consistency in care and learning and ensure all EYFS and SEN children have an assigned Keyworker to help them settle into our routines.

HOW WE HELP

As many of us are working parents ourselves, we understand the dual pressures of work and parenthood and do our best to help where possible. We therefore offer a variety of ways you can book and pay, so if you would like extra hours in the mornings, afternoons, or holidays whether it would be for work, to study, or simply for a few extra hours for yourself, then please get in touch.

Our friendly staff are always happy to help, so if you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to get in touch, either by phone, email or in person.

Our Facebook page is a great way to keep yourself up to date with our activities, what’s going on in club and upcoming events. We also keep families informed of any changes in updates via email, on our blog page and on notices in Club.
